To know whether food is affected in Canada, compare every detail in a CFIA notice with the package: brand, product name, size, UPC, lot number, date and sale area. A similar name is not enough.
Where to look on a package
The UPC is usually below the barcode. The lot code and date may be printed near an edge, on a lid or on the back. Keep packaging until the full check is complete: it is the most reliable way to avoid confusing similar versions.

- Compare the exact brand and package size first.
- Then check UPC, lot, date and sale location.
- If all details match, do not consume the product and follow the notice instructions.
